The book is focused on presentation of a balanced scientific viewpoint on the possibility of electromagnetic field effects on the human brain and mind.
“Electromagnetic Mind Control” is a controversial theme that originates from two known facts: (i) electromagnetic fields (EMFs) can affect human beings and (ii) the EM impact occurs invisibly and so it may be arranged in a way that people do not know about it. Particularly intriguing is the idea that weak EMFs can affect human brain causing conscious or subconscious mental processes, which means the possibility of controlling the human mind.
In a popular manner, the book considers general questions associated with this possibility. Considered are present-day methods of information extracting and delivery into the human brain by exposure to EMFs. General principles of EMF interaction with living objects are discussed along with the state-of-the-art of experiments, including neurological ones, with emphasis on the effects of comparatively weak fields that do not cause tissue heating. Theoretical approaches to the nature of such effects are presented. The author considers the microwave hearing effect and technical limitations of the targeted exposure of humans to EMFs. Finally, it is discussed which kind of mind reading is scientifically grounded and in what sense we may speak about mind control.
Although there are many publications in newspapers and popular magazines, discussing “Electromagnetic Mind Control” and “Electromagnetic Weapons,” it is almost impossible to find reliable information on this issue, particularly where relatively weak EM fields and radiations are of concern. This situation is shown by Prof. Abraham Liboff in his Foreword to the book. On the one hand, there is much fear, often unfounded, concerning EM intrusion into human mind. On the other hand, there is thoughtless depreciation of the importance of low intensity EM fields and radiations in a chronic exposure regime. The book explains the science of EM interaction with biological systems, particularly with human brain, so that the general public has facts to evaluate the actual level of threat from the possibility of EM mind control. However, it exposes the material in such a way that readers obtain much wider information about the principles that underlie EM interaction with biological systems. It is important to get wide public attention to the problem in view of the ever increasing level of background EM fields and radiations. There are no similar books of this genre and competitive products on the market.
